Description: International Dot Day is September 15th! We read the book "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds to introduce the exciting topic. The story explains how amazing art can be even just starting with one dot. After reading the story we were assigned to create our own dot using coffee filters, we had access to lots of materials. My dot is mostly made up of white crayon and watercolor. I like all the color I have on my dot. It was great to see all the different ways one "dot" could be designed!
Extension Activity: A great extension activity for this project would be to take all the dots made by the class and put them together as a collage. The different colors and artistic abilities will come together to really represent how one little dot can create a beautiful piece of art! The students in the class will also learn about collaboration when they combine all their projects into one big collage!
